A stabilised GHRH analogue studied in endocrine and metabolic research.
Tesamorelin (TH9507) is a synthetic peptide analogue of human growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Modified at its N-terminus to improve resistance to enzymatic degradation, Tesamorelin has been investigated for its influence on growth hormone (GH) secretion, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and metabolic signalling pathways. Published clinical research has also examined its effects on visceral adipose tissue in specific patient populations.
Growth Hormone & IGF-1 Regulation
Tesamorelin acts as an agonist of the GHRH receptor, stimulating growth hormone secretion through the anterior pituitary. Research has investigated the resulting changes in circulating GH and IGF-1 concentrations, offering insight into the regulation of the somatotropic axis and its associated endocrine feedback mechanisms.
Visceral Adipose Tissue Research
Tesamorelin has been studied in clinical trials examining visceral adipose tissue and metabolic outcomes, particularly in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. Investigations have assessed changes in abdominal fat distribution and related metabolic markers under controlled research conditions. These findings are specific to the populations and treatment protocols studied.
Peptide Stability & Laboratory Analysis
Tesamorelin incorporates a structural modification designed to improve peptide stability against enzymatic degradation. Laboratory investigations may examine its structural identity, purity, receptor interactions and behaviour under controlled experimental conditions. Analytical methods such as HPLC and mass spectrometry can be used to characterise peptide preparations.
Storage & Handling: Tesamorelin is supplied as a lyophilised research material. Storage conditions should follow the applicable batch documentation and validated stability information. Protect samples from unnecessary moisture, light exposure and temperature fluctuations. Reconstituted sample stability depends on the solvent, concentration and experimental conditions used.
