Are You Storing Peptides Wrong?
Proper storage is critical for maintaining peptide integrity. Degradation from heat, light, moisture, or repeated freeze-thaw cycles can compromise purity and render a compound unreliable for research.
Before Reconstitution (Lyophilised Powder)
Long-Term Storage
Lyophilised peptides are most stable in the freezer. Most compounds maintain integrity for 12–24 months depending on the specific peptide. Keep vials sealed and protected from light.
Short-Term Storage
Refrigerator storage is acceptable if you plan to use the peptide within 1–3 months. Avoid room temperature for extended periods.
Transit
Most lyophilised peptides are stable at room temperature for 3–5 days during transit. This is why cold-chain shipping is preferred but not always critical for the dry powder form.
After Reconstitution (Liquid Form)
Always Refrigerate
Once reconstituted with BAC water, always refrigerate. Store in the main body of the fridge, not the door where temperature fluctuates. Use within 28–30 days.
Never freeze a reconstituted peptide. Ice crystal formation damages the molecular structure. Never re-freeze. Reconstitute only what you need for the next 30 days.
How Long Does BAC Water Last?
Unopened BAC water stored at room temperature is stable for its full shelf life (typically 2+ years). Once punctured, use within 28 days. The benzyl alcohol preservative inhibits bacterial growth but can't maintain sterility indefinitely after the seal is broken.
